It’s been a busy time for my band The Winchesters! After a successful Kickstarter fundraising campaign, we’re in the studio recording our debut LP, Train & Taxi. We’re also playing out around town a ton - check our website at www.thewinchestersband.com for dates and other info. We can’t wait to get this music out to you, and we’re already writing more! I love making music with these people, and hope to see you at one of our shows soon.
I'm so honored to be performing in the UNIDOS: Puerto Rico Benefit Concert, alongside an incredible lineup of Chicago singers. Come see us at the Uptown Underground on October 30th!
October through December of 2016, I had the great fortune to play the title role in a world premiere play, MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY, at Northlight Theatre; it was an incredibly rewarding experience all around. Doing this play at Northlight with such a fantastic cast, under Jessica Thebus's direction, reinforced my love for collaboration in bringing new work to life. And those little tiny curls were fun to wrangle each night. :)
Next up in January (I did double duty for a whole week!) was THE HUNDRED DRESSES at Chicago Children's Theatre! This was a fun one because I got to sing AND play instruments - piano, guitar, ukulele, and mandolin to be precise. It was also my first time performing for kids, and I'll never forget the energy and openness with which they received our anti-bullying, pro-immigrant message.
Now auditioning for next season and looking forward to one more exciting gig between now and then: more news soon!
Earlier this year, I was fortunate to play paramedic Jen Brenner on NBC's Chicago Fire. Check out my snippet of the show above, and be sure to catch up on the rest of the series! It's so exciting to have so many new opportunities for television work in Chicago, (two new Fox pilots were picked up just this week!) and I had a blast getting in on the action.
